our swimwear is designed for long days in the sun and provides excellent sun protection for even the most sun conscious. 

australia has one of highest rates of skin cancer in the world due to its proximity to antarctica where there is a severe thinning of the ozone layer. with such damaging ultraviolet (uv) radiation on our shores us aussies take sun protection very seriously.

our premium fabric has an ultraviolet protection factor (upf) rating of 50+ which is the highest possible upf rating for sun protection under australian standards. this means our fabric blocks 98% of uv radiation offering even better protection against the sun than sunscreen.

upf quantifies how effectively a piece of clothing shields against the sun. our fabric protects the skin from uv radiation by creating a barrier between the skin and the sun that reduces uv radiation exposure to the skin beneath the fabric by a factor of 50+ meaning less than 1/50th of the sun’s uv radiation reaches the skin.

our fabric was tested by the australian government’s primary authority on radiation protection and complies with AS 4399:2020.

exposure to uvr can cause sunburn, skin damage, premature ageing and ultimately cancer. the risk of a person eventually developing skin cancer is cumulative and related to the amount of uvr they are exposed to over their lifetime, particularly in childhood.
